Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a notable leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has praised the women of Rivers State for their bold decision to walk out on Theresa Ibas, the wife of the state's sole administrator, during a women empowerment programme at the EUI Centre in Port Harcourt. The women rejected Ibas, branding her a stranger, in a powerful display of defiance. Eze views this act as evidence that Rivers State remains unconquered, with its people ready to resist injustice.

Reflecting on the event, Eze draws a historical comparison to 1929, when Nigerian women successfully protested against a British-imposed tax on their market stalls through traditional demonstrations of dancing and chanting. He believes that, just as those women prevailed, the current protest will pave the way for the swift reinstatement of Governor Sim Fubara to his office.

Eze strongly condemns the imposition of emergency rule and the suspension of the governor, describing them as calculated moves to dominate Rivers State’s politics and plunder its resources, rather than responses to insecurity. He accuses the administration of using these measures as a pretext to secure political leverage ahead of the 2027 elections. Eze further questions President Tinubu’s motives, arguing that if insecurity were truly the issue, states like Edo, Benue, Zamfara, Plateau, and Borno would have faced similar interventions. He alleges that the real intent is to access and distribute over ₦250 billion left in the Government House by Governor Fubara among political allies.
