If there’s one thing Wike no dey do, na hold back words and this time, he’s firing hot shots again! During his regular media parley in Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, took a major swipe at some political figures forming a new coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). And his message? Clear and loud: “Stop using Nigerians to settle personal scores.”

In his usual no-filter fashion, Wike called out the recent coalition formed by politicians who, according to him, are simply using "Nigerians are angry" as a cover for their personal wahala. He wasn’t buying the naija-vibe rebranding. He asked pointedly: “When una dey in power, wetin una do? Where your score card?”

This is classic Wike style blunt, fiery, and on-point. He reminded the press that just because you fall out with your former ally doesn’t mean you should pretend you’re suddenly fighting for Nigerians. Oga Wike is basically saying: we no be mumu, abeg respect our intelligence.

On the FCT front, Wike also touched on the ongoing teachers’ strike—a big matter for many residents. He explained that while the federal administration dey try, the root cause is that area councils owe teachers plenty—₦18 billion no be beans! To push for resolution, he even seized their 10% internally generated revenue (IGR), but the man say e still dey tough.

The whole gist reveals a deeper issue in Naija politics: politicking over patriotism. Every election season, new coalitions pop up like gala vendors in Lagos traffic, but how many truly care about the people? Wike’s message cut deep for many Nigerians tired of recycled politicians jumping ship without delivering any real change.

As 2027 draws closer, Wike’s comments may just be the opening blow in another round of serious political gbas gbos. Na who go hear word? Time go tell.
